Payment is due upon completion of service. I take Credit, Debit, and Cash.
Cancellations happen and Primpaws Grooming understands schedules sometimes change. If you must cancel we ask that you give as much notice as possible. Chronic cancellations may result in the inability to book future appointments and a cancellation fee up to the amount of the grooming. After 2 cancellations within 24 hours of appointment, we must ask customers to prepay a non refundable deposit for future appointments. Cancellations within 24 hours of appointment time are subject to a $25.00 fee.
Habitual no shows may be subject to a fee up to the price of the grooming and may no longer be able to schedule future appointments.
If your pet has any history of biting, we require notification of this. The possibility of biting will not affect whether the groomer may try to groom your pet, but it can help prevent injury. If your pet has some behavior issues, we will be happy to do what we can to help work through them. We have extensive experience with fearful dogs, teaching them with gentle handling and loving care that grooming can be enjoyable. Please let me know prior to the appointment if your pet needs some special handling so that we can schedule sufficient time to meet these needs. If this special care requires more than an extra half hour of time there may be a special handling fee to account for the extra time spent.
Rabies vaccination is required for all pets receiving service over 6 months of age. Primpaws Grooming understands that small dogs may not be able to handle the vaccine until a later age, or may be completely intolerant of the vaccine. For these cases, we must speak with your vet to verify that there is a medical reason that your pet is not vaccinated. We ONLY require the dog to have been vaccinated for rabies once in their lifetime. Distemper must be within 5 years of the grooming date.
If your pet has any medical problems, Primpaws Grooming asks to be made aware of them (i.e. seizures, arthritis, collapsing trachea, etc.) so that the groomer may take whatever steps needed to keep your pet comfortable during the grooming process. We reserves the right to refuse service should the pet's condition require the supervision of a veterinarian, and will happily refer you to veterinary groomers in your area. We do not groom sedated pets, nor do we sedate pets. We retain the right to refuse service to any pet we feel is unable to be groomed safely whether due to aggressiveness, age or health. Pets with any communicable disease cannot be groomed until a written vet's note confirms they are no longer contagious. Pets with open wounds or stitches will also not be groomed until they are healed properly. This ensures safety for your pet, other pets, and Primpaws.
Although accidents are exceptionally rare, there is always a minute risk when working with sharp blades and scissors on a pet. Because of that Primpaws Grooming would like to make you aware of our policies and procedures in the event of an incident. Our promise to you is that any incident will be reported to the owner immediately. If necessary we will transport your pet to a veterinarian. Any veterinary bills resulting from a pet being aggressive, overactive, matted, senior, or from a pre-existing or unforeseeable condition will be the sole responsibility of the owner. Safety is our number one concern. We believe in honoring the trust you’ve given us by returning it to you. Please notify us if your veterinarian changes as we will need a new form with their information.
